Composer / pianist Benoît Delbecq has a wide range of artistic preoccupations, from his polyrhythmic prepared piano playing to his adventurous use of recycled samples and keyboard-driven drum'n'bass. He was a key activist in the Hask collective that brought life and energy to modern jazz in France for a dozen years. In addition to the many outfits he leads or co-leads (Kartet, Les Amants de Juliette, Delbecq5, The Recyclers, Ambitronix...) and the albums he's released, he's taken part in many multidisciplinary projects involving theatre, dance, film and the visual arts, tirelessly refining his exquisite experimental blend of composition and improvisation. A unique and original artist who is often invited to perform on the major international jazz and new music festival circuit.
