In 1986, at the age of 27, the young piano-virtuoso and inspired composer Antoine Hervé wa invited to take part in the birth of the ONJ under the aegis of François Jeanneau.
A year later he took the reins of the orchestra for two seasons, the first director to benefit from the ONJ’s new, lengthened mandate. Volume 2 in this collection allows listeners to (re)discover the two original albums recorded by Antoine Hervé’s ONJ, ONJ 87 and ONJ 88-89 African Dream, and to take a dive into its periode-universe, a wolrd of classicism, jazz-rock, funk, groove and world-music.
